On March 31, Prof. Shiping Zhu, Vice President, CUHKSZ, led a delegation to visit Xin Zhong School in Surabaya. 

Prof. Zhu and the delegation were warmly received by Mr. Henry Dermawan, Deputy of Xin Zhong School Foundation Members, Ms. Amelia Budisantoso, Head of Academic Team, Ms. Ellen Pai, Deputy of Academic Team, Ms. Kimico Margaretha, Principal, Mr. Hendra Ming, Vice Principal, Mr. Bagus Hadi, Counselor and Ms. Gladys, Secretary of Academic Team. 

Led by Mr. Henry, Prof. Zhu visited the campus facilities and one of the IT classrooms to greet the students. In the following meetings, Mr. Hendra introduced Xin Zhong School, its history, curriculum and education prospects, while Ms. Roxy Luo introduced CUHKSZ.

After the meeting, a gathering to meet with Xin Zhong students was hosted at the school hall, and attended by around over 100 students, teachers, and parents. Xin Zhong students performed a speech in Chinese to kick off the session, followed by a brief welcome ceremony to the Grade 12 students who had been offered a place with CUHKSZ in Fall 2023.

Ms. Roxy Luo, the manager of International Admissions, then went on to introduce CUHKSZ and the entry requirements for the 2024 entry. 

After the session, the teachers returned to the meeting room to complete the signing ceremony of the progression collaboration agreement to advance top Xin Zhong students to CUHKSZ with priority admissions. The arrangement will officially start from the 2024 Entry.

Founded in 1934, the Xin Zhong School was originally known as Sin Hwa High School, a Chinese school for junior high school (SMP) and high school (SMA) education levels. It is a trilingual school in Bahasa Indonesian, English, and Chinese.

The Xin Zhong Pre-University education program was opened for students of Xin Zhong High School, grades 11-12. In 2015, Xin Zhong Pre-University (Xin Zhong High School) offered Cambridge A-Levels, Chinese Language in International Business, and the National Curriculum. By implementing this curriculum, students are prepared to continue to university/higher education levels in Indonesia and abroad. It is an A-Certified school according to the local standard.

Currently, 6 Xin Zhong alumni are studying at SDS and SME of CUHKSZ.
