The University Held the 1st CUHK-Shenzhen Day in Bangkok
On Sunday, October 27, the 1st CUHK-Shenzhen Day in Bangkok was successfully held and attracted the attendance of over 180 Thai students and parents.
This university branding event was also attended by distinguished guests, including the representatives from Thailand’s Ministry of Education, Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization, Mahidol University, Thammasat University, and distinguished local high schools. After successfully holding the annual CUHK-Shenzhen Night in Jakarta for two consecutive years, for the first time, the University brought its presence to Thailand.
Vice President Prof. Shiping Zhu warmly welcomed the guests and kicked off the event with remarks on forging stronger ties between CUHK-Shenzhen and local educational institutions. With the backdrop of China and Thailand about to celebrate 50 years of friendship since the two countries formed a diplomatic relationship, CUHK-Shenzhen, a global university located in the center of China’s Greater Bay Area, plays a key role in pressing forward further education exchange and collaboration. In his address, Prof. Zhu introduced the University’s educational philosophy, academic achievements and internationalization to the guests. He also invited all the students in the audience to come to study at CUHK-Shenzhen.

Prof. Sahawarat Polahan, Director of Thammasat Secondary School and Assistant Professor of Thammasat University, gave a keynote speech. In addition, guests from the Ministry of Education, Kasetsart University and Kamnoetvidya Science Academy also shared their stories of visiting and working with CUHK-Shenzhen.

Prof. Konstantinos Courcoubetis of the School of Data Science, Prof. Daigo Miyajima and Prof. Chenye Wu of the School of Science and Engineering, Prof. Han Jiang of the School of Management and Economics, Prof. Hsien-Da Huang, Prof. Jonathan Jenkin Tsui and Prof. Guozhen Liu of the School of Medicine, Prof. Jieqi Ma of the School of Humanities and Social Science introduced to the attending prospects and their parents each school’s faculty and academic resources, majors and the careers prospects they lead to.
On Monday, October 28, Prof. Shiping Zhu visited the Ministry of Education and discussed further collaborations in education and cultural exchange.
