CUHK-Shenzhen Successfully Held the 2nd International Undergraduate Admissions Open Day
On March 20 and 21, the university campus welcomed around 100 secondary education leaders, high school principals and teachers, prospects and their families from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Vietnam, etc., to attend the 2nd International Undergraduate Admissions Open Day.

Prof. Shiping Zhu, Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen, gave a welcome speech and introduced the unique ecology of nurturing talents at CUHK-Shenzhen to the guests. He emphasized that internationalization and diversity are at the core of the university’s educational philosophy. A bilingual campus, the fully English-taught degree programmes, a community-based collegiate system, and a “no-more-no-less” principle in student management, all act as the accelerator for international students to quickly integrate with the campus community and develop a more in-depth understanding of the contemporary Chinese culture and society. He also shared his vision and future goals for the university and welcomed students worldwide to join the CUHK-Shenzhen family.

Prof. Wen Zhang of the School of Management and Economics, Prof. Konstantinos Courcoubetis of the School of Data Science, Prof. Chenye Wu of the School of Science and Engineering, Prof. Hsien-da Huang and Prof. Jenkin Tsui of the School of Medicine, Prof. Lidi Wang of the School of Humanities and Social Science and Prof. Tsung-hui Chang of the newly established School of Artificial Intelligence introduced their respective schools in academic programmes, research platforms, study-abroad opportunities, career and advanced study options upon graduation.
Mr. Laurie Pearcey, the College Master of the Seventh College and Advisor to the President, Ms. Anne Ye, Director of the Career Planning and Development Office, Dr. Kai Wang, Deputy Director and Ms. Roxy Luo, Senior Manager of the Office of Academic Links also shared extensively on the most popular topics among international students, including the admissions policy, Collegiate System, Whole Person Education, international student services and career prospects.

In the Student Sharing Panel, fifteen student representatives from Indonesia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Germany shared their life in Shenzhen and their study experience in CUHK-Shenzhen.

The University also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with three attending high schools.

On March 21, the high school leaders and teachers attended the Forum on “Bridging High School and University: General Education in the Age of AI”, and visited Shenzhen Foreign Languages School. The prospects and their families, on the other hand, attended the workshops hosted by the schools in the morning. In the afternoon, they were joined by both Chinese and international students of CUHK-Shenzhen and enjoyed a cheerful half day trying out Chinese calligraphy, tea ceremony and exploring the interesting campus facilities.

The International Undergraduate Admissions Open Day, organized by the Office of Academic Links (OAL), is an important university branding event held annually to build connections with the world's top-quality secondary education institutions and attract excellent international students.
