[IMPORTANT NOTICE TO 2025 ENTRY PROSPECTS]
- We highly recommend you take the language test (IELTS or TOEFL if you do not have any other accepted English language certificate) as early as possible, ideally a year ahead of your time of application, to leave enough time to retake the test if you fail to meet the minimum requirement.
I. 2025 Entry Requirements
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen seeks top-quality students. Our minimum entry requirements are:
- an overall score in the top 20%,
- core subjects (mathematics, English, and subjects directly related to your major) also within the top 20%.

- General minimum requirements are for guidance only. Satisfying requirements does not guarantee admission, as admission is on a competitive basis.
- You need to meet both the Qualification Requirements AND the English Language Requirements below to be admitted without conditions. Failing to meet either, you will not be considered for unconditional admission.
- If your country/qualification is not listed here or in the attachment, your application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

IV. Additional Requirements for Applicants to the Clinical Medicine Undergraduate Program
- The Clinical Medicine Undergraduate Program is a six-year program. For more information, see Clinical Medicine.
- All applicants, unless rejected, are expected to be interviewed.
- Students admitted to the program will start their major study in Year 1.
- Students must achieve HSK 4 (Chinese language proficiency) to progress to Year 3, where clerkship in a local hospital is required as part of the curriculum. Failure to meet this condition will result in the students discontinuing the program.

Matured applicants who are currently studying an undergraduate program at a recognized university or higher institution
Please note that CUHK-Shenzhen does NOT accept transfers. You need to apply as a regular applicant for admission to become a freshman (Year 1) student. After enrollment, you can discuss with your school for credit transferring/waiving to shorten your study period. CUHK-Shenzhen General Regulations Governing Undergraduate Studies applies.
The above requirements, both qualification and English language, apply in reviewing your application. In addition, you will also need to submit the transcript of all subjects you have taken in your university or college.
